Among the services we offer are asset integrity engineering, design engineering, turnaround engineering, corrosion assessments, and regulatory consultancy. Our engineers are highly certified, experienced, and have a wide variety of skills. Most VIE engineers also carry and maintain inspection certifications including API 510, API 570, API 653, NACE CIP, CGSB XF, National Board, ABSA In-Service Pressure Equipment Inspector, and more.

Turnaround Engineering

When a facility is in a turnaround, time is of the essence. Quick, concise, and accurate decisions are critical. Vision Integrity’s on-site engineers assist in keeping your turnaround on schedule, so that you can be sure you are operating at peak efficiency. Our engineers have extensive experience in turnaround environments. Making accurate and timely decisions is our primary objective in supporting our clients during turnaround execution.

We also have extensive experience in assisting pre-planning for future turnarounds, including scope of work development, equipment purchase specifications, regulatory liaising to support turnaround schedule alignments, and contingency planning.

Design Engineering

When you need a custom approach to the design of an asset, and we are here to help. Vision Integrity’s engineers can manage the integrity of your assets and design them, too. Our skillset involves working with small vessel design, piping design, and specialized asset design. We use industry-leading and regulatory-recognized software CODEWARE COMPRESS, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD. These tools are also used in our many successful regulatory submissions for existing pressure vessel rerates and other design alterations.

Regulatory Consultancy

In Alberta, the regulatory authority for pressure equipment safety is ABSA. As a Regulatory Consultant, Vision Integrity has a good, long-standing relationship with ABSA. We have the expertise to help you navigate the required codes and standards. We help you understand ABSA’s expectations and requirements early in a project to help ensure your success. VIE understands the values and role that ABSA plays in keeping the public safe from pressure equipment related incidents. We exemplify those values through our consultations with clients. We have successfully worked with ABSA Safety Codes Officers and ABSA Design Survey on multiple projects. Vision Integrity has also worked with provincial regulatory bodies in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. We have guided many clients through regulatory audit processes, and helped implement solutions to ensure they are successful.

Corrosion Assessments

Companies spend valuable resources and effort on recovering from corrosion damage and trying to accurately predict potential future damage. Our goal is simple: help you find the corrosion before it finds you. How we achieve that goal is unique for each scenario we face, but the underlying approach is built on a solid foundation:

Validate Asset Data: Confirm information from field walk-downs, company personnel, drawings, previous inspection data, previous inspection findings, previous failures, and more

Risk Rank: Rank the risk by aligning with company-specified risk matrix parameters, or using benchmark Risk Rank parameters used across multiple companies in the industry.

Mitigate: Establish thorough mitigation strategies for clients with the identified higher risk equipment as a priority. For example, we develop inspection plans, make recommendations for replacements or repair, perform immediate risk mitigation precautions such as a diamond wrap or shutting in a line, and more.

CSA B149.3 Engineering Field Approval of Fuel Gas Trains

Vision Has expertise in CSA B149 code and can provide engineering stamped approval certificates stating that a specific fuel gas train meets CSA Code. This service only applies to Alberta and to equipment at Oil and Gas Production Facilities and makes use of VAR-GAS-03-19.

Storage Tank Systems Engineering

Vision has expertise in part 4 of the national fire code as it applies in Alberta to construction Storage Tank Systems. In Alberta tank installations outside of the Oil and Gas Industry are governed by the Fire Code as administered by the Alberta Safety Codes Council. Before June 8, 2020 this type of work was administered by the PTMAA, Petroleum tank Management association of Alberta. Constructing Storage Tank Systems often requires the design and sign off of a professional Engineer.
